Carol was born in Springfield, VT, and lived in Cavendish until moving to Hernando in 1984. Left to cherish his memory are two loving children, Joshua, Jr and Alayna his mother, Karen father Eric, brother, Sean Barnhart (Sarah Elliott), and his “granny” Sandra Webb. Joshua worked in the construction industry, utilizing his many talents starting in the H-Vac business, along side his late Uncle Steve, in carpentry, electrical work, and home remodeling. He grew up in Citrus County, attending Pleasant Grove Elementary and Inverness Middle School prior to graduating from Citrus High School, Class of 2001. He was born in Dayton, OH on July 6, 1983. Joshua Lee Barnhart, age 40, Hernando, FL passed away at home on November 26, 2023. She will make one last, long-awaited journey home to her hometown of Rhodes Point on Smith Island. It always brought a smile to her face to receive pictures and videos of her great nephews and nieces back in Maryland, and she cared deeply about her friends and neighbors. She also spent her time cooking and reading. She enjoyed spending time with her dog, Rinnie, relaxing on her porch, and learning all she could about house plants and gardening. She lovingly dedicated her life to caring for her disabled son and has been his sole caretaker for over 20 years. She attended Crisfield High School and worked for many years as a banquet and private party coordinator at Port Royal Beach Club and Elks Lodge #2522. She was preceded in death by her two parents and one older brother, Norwood Kent. Many nephews, nieces, and her trusted friend Michael Wagenblast. She leaves behind her son William “Billy” Ray Andrews, her two sisters Connie Evans and Millie Marsh, She was born on September 5, 1962, on Smith Island, Maryland, to the late Robert Kent and Laura (Bradshaw) Kent. Kent Andrews of Ocala, Florida, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2024, at the age of 61 in the comfort of her own home. Internment occurred after the service at Hills of Rest Cemetery, Floral City, FL. Services for Raja were held on Sunday, November 26, 3:00pm at the Chas. Raja’s many friends, patients, and colleagues mourn his passing and celebrate his life and their connection with this kind and gentle man. Raja was predeceased by his father Wadi Abdul-Karim, his mother Alice Shehadi Abdul Karim, his brother Nabil and sister Suha. He is survived by his loving wife Margaret, his sons Christopher and Kenneth, his brother Kamal Abdul-Karim (Leila) and loving nephews and nieces. His motto throughout his medical career was “Encourage/Enhance/ Develop Analytical/Critical Thinking”. He was acclaimed for his research on “The Effect of Oxytocin on Renal Function in Human Pregnancy” and “The Role of Estrogens in Fetal Development and Blood Flow Distribution”. Raja was well known and respected as an author, educator, and consultant both nationally and internationally. Twice he received the Award for Excellence in Teaching. He was appointed Director of numerous divisions including the 3rd Medical Student Clerkship. In 1963, he started his long career at SUNY Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, NY in the Dept. He received his Fellowship in Fertility and Endocrinology at UCLA. Raja attended the American University of Beirut receiving his M.D. Meeting in Lebanon and marrying there, settled in Syracuse, NY where they raised their two sons, Christopher and Kenneth. Raja and Margaret’s marriage of 61 years was one of love, devotion and respect. went to his Lord on Thanksgiving Day Novemwith his loving wife Margaret at his side.
